In these Terms & Conditions, users, students, or you, means the person(s) using the website to view, and/or purchase, and to study our products.

Online RYA theory courses offered in this website are provided by Skippers Online Ltd, who are accredited RYA Distance Learning Providers.

Modifications to Services and Prices

The Course Fee is as advertised net of any discount.

The initial term of your registration is 12 months. You may purchase unlimited 6 month extensions for the price advertised.

Prices for our products are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time. We shall not be liable to you or to any third-party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Products & Services

We will grant you a personal non-transferable licence to use the courses during the term of your registration.

In return for payment of the course fee we will provide you with: instructor support 7 days a week, a student pack comprising RYA training charts (where required), a training almanac and course handbook, lessons, quizzes, self-assessment exercises, mock exams with automatic feedback and final exams. Final exams will be marked by a qualified RYA instructor who will provide detailed feedback and a pass/fail decision. If you pass all of your exams you will be awarded the relevant RYA Course Completion Certificate. If you fail you will be offered multiple resits during the term of your registration.

Refunds

You are entitled to a money back guarantee. To activate it you must haven not requested any exams and must notify us within the 14 days of first registering. You can then either return your student pack in such condition that it can be re-used, in which case we will refund your full course fee, or you can retain it, in which case we will refund your course fee less £50.

If you cancel a contract and are entitled to a refund, we will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. We will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any event, within 30 days of the day we received your valid notice of cancellation.

We reserves the right to cancel/curtail your activity due to circumstances amounting to Force Majeure – these include, but are not limited to, war, riots, government action, terrorism, fire, weather conditions, strike action and all similar events outside of our  control. Where such circumstances occur we will not be liable to pay you refunds or compensation.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights (including your right to receive a refund in respect of any defective product we sell to you).

The trading name Skippers Online is a registered trademark and is the intellectual property of Skippers Online Limited and may not be used copied or reproduced in any form without the specific permission of Skippers Online Limited.

The copyright in the material contained on this site and in all of our lessons sold via this website or by agents belongs to us or its licensors. This website and the lessons sold via this website is for your personal and non-commercial use. No part of this website or the lessons sold via this website may be reproduced in any form without our prior consent, other than temporarily in the course of using our service or to keep a record of a transaction entered into using our service. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, sell or in any other way use any material, information, products or services contained or featured on this website or in the lessons sold via this website without our express written consent.

Customer Confidentiality

All customer’s personal details will be treated in the strictest confidence and under no circumstances will any details be passed onto a third party without your prior consent, other than to the RYA for whom you consent to us registering your details as a student when you purchase a course from us.

Your submission of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. 

Use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by this reference.

Errors, Inaccuracies and Ommissions

Occasionally there may be information on our website or in the lessons sold via this website that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information or cancel orders if any information in the Service or on any related website is inaccurate at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order).

We undertake no obligation to update, amend or clarify information in the Service or on any related website, including without limitation, pricing information, except as required by law. No specified update or refresh date applied in the Service or on any related website, should be taken to indicate that all information in the Service or on any related website has been modified or updated.

In the event that any provision of these Terms & Conditions is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms & Conditions, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

Termination

The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes.

These Terms & Conditions are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms & Conditions at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using our site.

If in our sole judgment you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term or provision of these Terms & Conditions, we also may terminate this agreement at any time without notice and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or accordingly may deny you access to our Services (or any part thereof).

Entire Agreement

The failure of us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
